I was of the opinion that they could have just added functionality to the existing Topaz Studio, but it seems Topaz is moving away from creative effects toward enhancement only (intending to be best in class in those areas).Īs for comparison, some are saying Resize is exceeding the capabilities of Gigapixel. In past times Topaz' offerings were getting very crowded. I understand from the Topaz forum discussions with the developers that they intend to finish the migration of all standalone capabilities to Photo AI and proceed from there going forward.

Photo AI currently has the base functionalities of all 3 standalones included, but the fine tuning is still taking place. Also due to the previous versions overwriting image data immediately, processing may feel slower but this is just because more images are being fully processed.Catching up with you east coast and overseas guys!

We will have a better fix for this in the future. You can always re-attempt to save any files that have this error.

Issues where files were being overwritten with different image data should be resolved, but in some cases where processing would have overwritten the wrong file it will now instead show “Error writing image”.

Several smaller menu and and shortcut changes.

Shortcuts for various edit modes (C, F, M) are now toggle-able instead of just entering the mode.

Save button in preferences is now disabled unless there are changes.

Reset crop button is now disabled when nothing would change.

Added “T” shortcut to enter text masking mode.

Fixed resolution unit being used even when upscale is turned off.

Fixed some models getting re-downloaded when updating.

Fixed exporting the same file multiple times always appending and new “-2” instead of incrementing.

Fixed brush size preview being shown at incorrect times.

Fixed issue where “Processing” text on export dialog would overlap the scrollbar.

Fixed some issues where shortcuts could be used while Autopilot was running.

Fixed issue where files would sometimes overwrite other files due to a race condition.
